A dalhangari (달항아리), the round white-porcelain jar of late-Joseon Korea, made now at Yido's workshop in Yeoju. The body is close to a full sphere, 18cm across and 17.5cm tall, closing into a short rolled lip and standing on a small foot. The glaze is a soft matte white with nothing drawn on it, so the only thing to look at is the curve. Yido shapes each one by hand and fires it to 1,270°C, and counts roughly 280 hours across choosing the clay, forming, glazing and firing a single piece. Every jar sold through an official channel carries Yido's seal pressed into the porcelain beside the foot.

The mouth is wide enough for branches or a loose handful of stems, and the weight sits low enough in the sphere to hold them upright without a frog. Empty it reads as an object rather than a vase, which is how most of them end up living on a console or an entry table. At 18cm it takes a shelf rather than a floor.

It ships inside a paulownia (오동나무) wood box, 21.8cm across and 20.4cm tall, tied with a fabric ribbon. Nothing needs wrapping.

Things people ask

Will I have to pay customs or import taxes?

No. Every order ships DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) — all customs duties and import taxes are built into the product price, so your parcel arrives with nothing more to pay.

How long until it arrives?

We need 1 to 5 business days to confirm with the studio and prepare your order. Korea Post EMS is 3 to 7 business days in transit. Made-to-order pieces take 5 to 10 business days to prepare; we note this on the product page.

What's your return policy?

Returns accepted within 14 days of delivery, in original condition. Email contact@shopsoodam.com for a return authorization first. Buyer covers return shipping for change-of-mind; customs duties and the $25 shipping fee (on orders under $150) are non-refundable.

What if it arrives damaged?

That's on us. Email contact@shopsoodam.com within 7 days with your order number and photos of the item and packaging. We'll send a replacement or a full refund, your choice.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Within 1 hour of ordering, yes. After that we'll try, but we forward orders to studios in Korea within 24 hours, so it depends on whether preparation has started. Email contact@shopsoodam.com right away.

How does store credit work?

Every order earns 5% of the subtotal back as store credit, added to your account once your order ships. It applies automatically at checkout and stays valid for 6 months.
