Fresh out of the shower

Fresh out of the shower

"Fresh out" is the minute and a half after a shower, skin still warm and mirror still steamed, that clean tingle from a good scrub. It's the part of the day that gets the least attention but happens every morning. This Edit gathers four pieces around that feeling. A natural Egyptian loofah for the shower itself, where the feeling starts. Two undyed cotton towels with woven stripes to meet you when you step out. And a robe to keep the feeling going, with a cotton lining that absorbs water and a micro-fiber outer to keep the warmth in. They share a register: weighty, well-made, quiet. None of them tries to be more than what it is. They're the version of a towel or a robe we'd want in our own bathroom.

the objects, in order, four objects

  1. Classic stripe robe

    THE GRANN

    $250.00

The cotton lining absorbs water off the skin, so you can keep the towel step short and throw the robe on right after a shower. The soft micro-fiber outer holds the warmth in, which is why we end up in ours for the full half hour between shower and getting dressed on cold mornings.

  2. Egyptian loofah, set of two

    Mandisa

    $55.00

A loofah does what a washcloth can't, scrubbing off dead skin while you wash. Most loofahs start shedding fibers in a few weeks; this one we've used for months. The Hand version, with its cotton strap, is the one we recommend if you're new to using a loofah.

  3. Stripe bath towel, set of two

    TWB

    $110.00

Undyed cotton in a warm, natural color, with three woven stripes the only marking — the pared-back look of TWB's stripe line. Made from 40s 100% cotton for a soft hand, and dense enough not to thin out over years of use. Wrap up in it straight out of the shower, and the day starts soft and easy.

    TWB

    $100.00

Undyed cotton left its natural color, with three woven stripes the only marking — the pared-back look of TWB's stripe line. Made from 40s 100% cotton for a soft hand, and dense enough not to thin out over years of use.
