Mujagi takes its name from mujagwi (무작위) — to act without fixed intent — and works only in unadorned white. The studio names its pieces for what they look like rather than what they are for, so this is a flower before it is a vase. What you put in it, or whether you leave it empty, is left to you.

The dalhangari (달항아리) is the round white moon jar of late-Joseon porcelain. Mujagi keeps the top of the jar smooth and lets the flower open from the bottom: the upper body stays a clean, round shoulder beneath a small rolled mouth, while the lower third gathers into soft vertical petals that twist down into a petalled foot. The glaze is a flat chalk-matte rather than the usual glassy white, which is what lets those lower ridges hold their shadow.

It stands 140mm tall and 150mm across — a piece for a shelf, a console, or the middle of a table, not the floor. The mouth is narrow, sized for a few short stems or a single dried branch, though it holds the room on its own with nothing in it.

Each jar is thrown and glazed by hand, so petal depth and the faint iron flecks in the white vary from piece to piece.

It comes in a paulownia (오동나무) wood box tied with Mujagi's black ribbon. Native to the Korean peninsula, paulownia is the pale, light wood used for the soundboards of the gayageum and for the boxes that protect fine ceramics: it barely warps, and it breathes — taking on and releasing moisture to keep what is inside steady. So the box is not packaging to tear off and discard. Keep it as a lidded store for letters, tea, or small things, or as an object on its own — there is nothing here to throw away.

CARE
Wipe with a soft dry or barely-damp cloth. Hand-wash only — not for the dishwasher or microwave. Handle as a decorative ceramic; the matte surface can mark, so keep it clear of gritty or abrasive surfaces.

Things people ask

Will I have to pay customs or import taxes?

No. Every order ships DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). All applicable duties and taxes are built into the product price, so your parcel arrives with nothing more to pay.

How long until it arrives?

We need 1 to 5 business days to confirm with the studio and prepare your order. DHL Express is 1 to 5 business days in transit. Made-to-order pieces take 5 to 10 business days to prepare; we note this on the product page.

What's your return policy?

Returns accepted within 14 days of delivery, in original condition. Email contact@shopsoodam.com for a return authorization first. Buyer covers return shipping for change-of-mind; duties and the $40 shipping fee (on orders under $250) are non-refundable.

What if it arrives damaged?

That's on us. Email contact@shopsoodam.com within 7 days with your order number and photos of the item and packaging. We'll send a replacement or a full refund, your choice.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Within 1 hour of ordering, yes. After that we'll try, but we forward orders to studios in Korea within 24 hours, so it depends on whether preparation has started. Email contact@shopsoodam.com right away.
