Nomia is a Korean textile brand that started with rugs and has since worked outward into the rest of the soft floor of a home — room shoes, curtains, towels, blankets, bedding. The brand describes its work as putting a design into whichever material suits it best, and the rugs are still where that shows most plainly: it grades each one t1 through t5 on a touch guide, by how it reads underfoot rather than how it looks.
The room shoes come out of a running conceit the brand calls Hotel Nomia. Each colorway is embroidered with something you might find in a hotel — a key, a room number — and sold in a numbered box.
