Seasoning Objet is a lifestyle brand in eastern Seoul that designs objects meant to stay close in daily life. The studio refuses to settle on one material, working across plant-based plastics, metal and wood, and much of the range is 3D-printed in layers from a corn-starch PLA. It is a slower way to make a thing, and it leaves visible striations on the surface that the studio treats as the point rather than a flaw. Alongside the printed pieces are soft goods sewn by hand in the atelier, including the cotton mushroom that was their first object. The designer works from a simple premise: fill a room with things you like and looking at them is enough. The forms draw on nature, architecture, and Korean design's habit of taking away rather than adding.
