Mimidar makes gifts, and means that literally: the logo is two boxes, one open and one closed, for the pleasure of giving and the pleasure of receiving. The name sets two characters meaning beauty against dal, the Korean word for moon, a shape that changes through the month while what it is worth does not. Almost everything Mimidar makes starts from one specific piece of Korean painting or ornament and is sold as a series, and the stated aim is that the object stay in use rather than sit on a shelf as a souvenir. One of those series took the 2025 Presidential Award at the Korea Tourism Souvenir Competition.
