Insoil designs from the quiet satisfactions of an ordinary day, often posed as a question — here, what it would be to set the moon on the table.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA pair of the Moonlight plate: a shallow plate carved with a full moon draped in cloud, worked in \u003cem\u003eeumyanggak\u003c\/em\u003e (음양각), the Korean technique that combines recessed and raised relief, set near one edge as a shallow sauce well. The design is patented — pour soy sauce or vinegar into the well and the dark liquid settles into the recesses while the raised moon surfaces through it. The set comes three ways: two glossy white, two semi-matte white scattered with Insoil’s brown iron-oxide dots, or one of each.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003csection class=\"description\"\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach plate is 238mm across and 20mm deep, with the well sized for a dipping sauce — two plates lay two place settings for sushi or sashimi, each holding its own soy sauce. Porcelain fired at 1,250°C and certified by KICET (한국세라믹기술연구원) cadmium- and lead-free in both clay and glaze; microwave- and dishwasher-safe.
